Okay, so this book was on my to-read list for a long time because I couldn't find it anywhere. So there was a buildup and lots of anticipation. I wish that I had more knowledge of James Fenimore Cooper because it would have made my experience even better. The end of this book totally made it a solid four as opposed to a 3.5. I liked the genealogical aspects of the novel and I liked the character development, especially the relationships between Willie and the Running Buds. All of the correspondence and the history in the book was an interesting twist. Overall, I really ended up liking it and would read anything else she wrote.
